I'm not aware of a device that takes in digital audio (optical or coax), does D/A conversion, and has a powered output for headphones, for under that price.
Other such cheap amps may clip audio sources that have a relatively high level, but this one can take up to about 2V which is about all you will see on consumer gear. Such an amp has its own volume control that particular one can run on battery, but it can work while charging as well (and it charges through USB, and could probably charge off of one of the USB ports on the TV). You plug the TV into the amplifier and the headphones into the amp. If it's a pure line out that's not designed to drive headphones, you could get a $25 headphone amplifier like a FiiO E6. Have you tried plugging into that? It may or may not be buffered to handle headphones. #4 It says there's an "audio out (mini jack)" in addition to the digital audio, so this is presumably analog and probably 3.5mm TRS (as opposed to RCA either is no big deal since adapters are cheap). It definitley doesn't have the regular headphone jacks, just a digital audio input hdmi and component/network stuff. Do i need to get some kind of tuner or adapter that I plug into the digital audio out port on the back of my tv and then plug in my headset into that? So for example if i switch my screen over from my PC to my TV when I'm watching GSL or something and I don't want to disturb others if it's too loud, I would ideally want to hook up my Headphones for my PC to my TV to listen in. So I just picked up this 40" Samsung LCD HDTV Today.Įverything is working fine with it but I wanted to ask if anyone knew the best way to hook up my headphones with it? On the back I have HDMI ports and a digital audio out port but there is no headphone jack.
